Ray Harkin Professional Profile

Trainer – Coach – Mentor – Presenter – Conference panelist
Ray has spent most of his working life in the motor industry, after starting as an automotive engineering apprentice with Vauxhall Motors, he moved into retail car sales, sales management and general management. As a lifelong learner, he found his ideal role with Martec.
During his Martec career he has delivered thousands of high tempo enthusiastic training and coaching sessions.
He has been a keynote speaker and panellist at Motor Industry events such as the Automotive Management Used Car Conference and the SIMI (Society of Irish Motor Industry) annual conference.
Whilst the majority of Ray’s activity has been motor industry related he has also trained in other areas where sales, influencing, communication and leadership skills are required, including the Hotel industry, Corporate hospitality, Estate agency and Corporate insurance services.

His delegates constantly tell us they leave his sessions inspired to do things differently. Ray is regularly described as inspirational, real world, charismatic, fun, humorous, passionate, enthusiastic, direct, fair and honest.

He is extremely proud that he has recruited sales and service trainees into the motor industry and trained, coached and mentored them through to management positions and in some cases business ownership.
Ray continues to learn constantly and is an avid reader. He has trained to Master Practitioner standard in Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) with Richard Bandler, John LeValle, Paul McKenna and Anthony Robbins. He doesn’t train NLP, rather he uses his learning experiences to help delegates learn in a way that works for them and ensures long term knowledge retention.
